I have read many books about Asian history and culture over the years, and while this book is impeccably researched, there were so many Chines names that I could not keep track of who was whom. In frustration, I gave up reading it before I got halfway through. This book is incredibly well researched, and I hate to give int only one star, but it was just too confusing for me, and for that reason did not hold my interest.
It is a good primer book that is a basic book on the subject. The author does inject some speculation and some of the author's bias.
Clements’ book is easy to read and has enough substance to appeal to those who otherwise shy away from historical biographies.
A fascinating epic story.
Great book to read for fun as well as for historical knowledge. The author carefully weighed the historical facts as well as the stories written about the First Emperor and gave a balanced story. I enjoyed reading the book
